How To Sell Your Stuff Online

23rd March 2021

Cleaning and decluttering up has been a great source of killing time over the last year for many, the only issue is; once you’ve tidied out your wardrobe and excessive shoe collection what do you do with it next? Well, selling products online from home is a great way to gain a little extra money, as well as help create a little more space at home. Plus, if you have the items and the time then why not give it a go?

Below we have created a quick guide to help you get started on your quest to becoming a home entrepreneur.

What can I sell?

Clothes - something we all have too much of and most likely could do with reducing the quantities, making it a great place to start. Go through your wardrobe and begin to sort out what you want to keep and what you’d be willing to part ways with. Once done you can begin to identify which items are good enough to sell.

Shoes - Who doesn’t love a good pair of shoes? A lot of the time these were bought impulsively and never worn, meaning they are practically brand new. This makes shoes an excellent option for selling your belongings online. Do you have any special edition shoes? If so you’re in luck, as these will only increase in value over time.

Furniture - Whether you’re looking to shift a chest of drawers, a dining set or even an old sofa, furniture is an excellent thing to sell online. There is likely to be someone out there who is in need of what you have to offer, making these items much easier to sell.

Electronics - whether it’s an iPad, TV or a laptop you’re looking to sell, you will need to be careful with selling electronics online. Whilst the demand will likely be there, you will need to ensure that the quality is clearly displayed before selling the item.

Where can I sell?

eBay - More often than not if you’re thinking of the best websites to sell stuff on then eBay will be at the top of your list. This is a great platform for anyone looking to sell any items at home. Simply create a profile and add some personal details to help buyers determine whether or not your items are a fit for them in terms of location and shipping fees.

Facebook Marketplace - Facebook Marketplace is a great platform if you are interested in selling locally. It is perfect for selling all kinds of items, especially furniture and other household items. This is a free-to-use platform that is accessible if you have a Facebook profile (which in 2021, most of us do), meaning there is very little cost involved for you and no additional usage fee.

Gumtree - this is a platform that is perfect for any kind of one-off sales. The listings here are free of charge, and a large amount of the products sold here are used, meaning it will be ideal for any old items that you have found yourself and are looking to sell.

You’ve had a clear out, next up time to spring clean. Luckily, we have the perfect guide for you.
